Hello, I’m Sam. I’m a audio engineer specialising in recording and Dolby Atmos mixing, based at River Studios Cologne. Over the past ten years, I’ve worked with artists, producers and labels across a wide range of genres. During the last six years, I’ve focused on Dolby Atmos, mixing more than 600 releases, planning and building two Dolby Atmos music studios, and helping bring music into immersive audio. Today, I work in a Dolby Certified 9.1.4 mixing room at River Studios Cologne. I don’t see myself as just a Dolby Atmos engineer. I see myself as a production partner, working closely with labels, producers and artists throughout the entire Dolby Atmos process. From the first conversation to the final delivery, my goal is to make the entire workflow as smooth, efficient and collaborative as possible. What I enjoy most is being involved throughout the whole journey. Discussing ideas, finding creative solutions, communicating directly with everyone involved and making sure the technical side never gets in the way of the creative process. In my experience, the best Atmos projects are built on good communication, thoughtful preparation and close collaboration long before the final mix.
